Rev. Paul R. Leonard

Founder and webmaster for

M.Div. Fuller Theological Seminary (March 2017)

Paul was raised in the PCUSA, yet he has since left the denomination.

Upset by recent debates in the PCUSA, and moving around a lot during seminary made denominational churches hard to work with, he decided to do his year-long internship at a small house church.

Having served on pastor nominating committees, being a pastor’s kid, and participating in mission trips all left him feeling like he had learned enough about “formal” churches. However, he still maintains a positive view of the institution and willingness to work with, in, and beside it.

True to his roots, Paul is an generally Reformed thinker. He grew up in a pastoral household. That fostered a deep seated love of abstract theology from a young age and now he likes to stretch the envelope and try to reach orthodox Reformed positions from new angles.

His life has lead him on a crazy path. It has included a short stint as a Roman Catholic, years as an auto mechanic, working at Google, working as an IT helpdesk leader, and social media manager. Because of this, he brings a blend of blue-collar no-nonsense and careful exegesis to his writing and preaching. He currently works as Senior Minister at Epping Community Church
